Welcome to my school website. This site was initially intended to supplement the work my students and I do in the classroom and act as a resource centre, reference source, classroom aid and source of inquiry. Some of the information on the following pages relates directly to courses I have taught and are linked to classroom activities while other resources are ones made available for those students that feel they would like to examine a particular topic more in depth than our class time allows.
As I have also acted as a district support position with the Learning Innovation department some content is focused more on supporting educators explore specific topics in education and curriculum implementation. The Prep Room page is one such page and a place that I will post information and resources that align with some of my projects.
Currently, I am in an administration position with the district's Curriculum department and working specifically with Distance Education. As a result I will begin to expand some of the content on this site around supporting online, hybrid and remote learning.

A little about myself: I have been teaching in Prince George since 1995 and have a wonderful wife who is a school counselor and two sons. I have an Education Degree from UofA in Social Studies and English and a Master's degree in Educational Technology from UBC. I have been coaching in schools and the community for the last 25 years, including volleyball, basketball, hockey, soccer and a variety of other sports.
My life revolves around my family, social studies and sports and my teaching assignments reflect this as I recently have taught social studies at Prince George Secondary School, soccer at Duchess Park Secondary and work with elite Student Athletes in The Engage Sport Canadian Sport School of Norther BC. I am also the assistant coach of the University of British Columbia Timberwolves men's soccer team.
I am also a proud founding and active member of the Pacific Slope Learning Consortium that has been been challenging each other and sharing our work to promote critical thinking classrooms that provide authentic connections between curriculum, identity, and place, primarily in the context of Social Studies. In 2018 myself and some other Pacific Slope members authored "Thinking it Through: a Social Studies Sourcebook" which was published by Pearson and is currently in use in schools throughout BC.
